Pootjes hits the sidelines.
The MX2 class has really been hit hard by injuries in the last two weeks. Davy Pootjes has now joined Bas Vaessen, Alvin Ostlund and Chihiro Notsuka on the sidelines ahead of round four of the FIM Motocross World Championship.
Pootjes, who is riding for the HSF Logistics team this season, was taken out by another rider in Argentina and injured his shoulder. Although he battled back to eighteenth in that race, the pain was too much to handle ahead of the second and final encounter. A doctor instructed the Dutchman to rest following that event, hence why he skipped the Dutch Masters of MX opener last weekend, but he was still confident that he would be able to contest the Grand Prix of Leon.
Alas, Pootjes confirmed earlier today that his shoulder still needs more time to heal. “It’s painful that I need to rest two weeks more with my shoulder,” he wrote on social media. “Just don’t know what you do wrong, but I believe if I keep working hard that one day everything will turn around and pay off!”
Davy Pootjes’ status for the Grand Prix of Trentino in two weeks has not been confirmed at this time.
